Jimmy Lim uses the San Francisco 49 Mile Scenic Drive to illustrate that this journey is similar to living the Christian Life. It is comprised of twists and turns, unexpected and surprising things to see and unknown to the person traveling.

The explorer driving this road could be a thrill seeker, someone who is ready for anything. This person is not rushed and wants to see and enjoy as much as he can on this drive.

Christian life parallels this idea of traveling this journey he/she does not know what is around the bend and will be faced with surprises both good and bad, joyful and sad.

The Christian journey is a life with God. Every move and decision that’s made is done with God in mind. God is leading us through the journey. And it’s important to note that the Christian life will be faced with good or bad, but it’s knowing how to respond in challenging situations is how we become more like God. So spend time with your Christian friends/family. Spend time praying. Spend time learning the Bible. Spend time practicing what God wants us to be like and practice to be holy. God’s goal isn’t to make you happy, it’s to make you holy.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
“...To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven...”

Thessalonians 5:15-18

“...Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus....”
