Tommy Lim opens our discussion from Romans 15:5-6

"Unity and Praise"

May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as

you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our

Lord Jesus Christ.

Tommy shared a sample of his Christian journey and talked about some of the ways he worships God at FCBC. He expressed his gratitude amongst his choir peers such as Wendy Quan and Victor Low. He acknowledged their wealth of experience and how they have helped him grow and develop as a member of the choir. He tells us his most meaningful ministry is through singing in the choir which he has faithfully been a part of for nearly 15 years!

He tells us another story about another member of the choir, Bill Chinn and how he was able to show his love and dedication to help Tommy in a sticky situation. Tommy has been serving on the Illinois Alumni choir for the past 5 years. Every year they are asked to sing their Alma Mater for the current graduating class. His first performance was 5 years ago and Tommy felt completely intimidated because the person in charge handed him sheet music to read and suggested that he listen to the YouTube version and go from there. Well, he doesn't read music and the YouTube video was a challenge because he really couldn't hear the bass which is the part he needed to learn, yikes! Bill who also sings bass with Tommy in the choir followed the YouTube video and configured a way to record his own (Bill's) voice accompanied by the YouTube video! voila! And gave this recording to Tommy.  To this date, Tommy has listened to this audio of Bill over 100 times in preparation of every graduation for the past 5 years! And today Tommy says with confidence, "I got it!" Yay!

Praise the Lord, Bill!

AMEN!

John 11: 25-26

This scripture is about raising Lazarus from the dead...George will continue in future weeks to explain the meaning of this.

"I am the resurrection and the life,  those who believe in me, even though they die, will live.

And everyone who believes in me will never die."

To help you remember, break it down to 3 things:

  1. Living
  2. Believing
  3. Death
