Charles Yong tells us more about his Medical Mission Trip To Ecuador!

Charles tells us about his journey to Ecuador and shared the process of his application. He emailed his application and within 5 minutes he was rejected and said they had enough Pharmacists! But he persisted and his application was later accepted! The age range was 22 to 66 years of age and he met many nice people. A 66 year old dentist did find the days long but made it through the trip.  Another new friend was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and she withheld this information early in the trip and since have stayed in touch and is doing better.

Incidentally Charles did get sick on his trip and maybe he ate something or drank the water, he still struggled through the days and made it through! His relationship with God was the most  important takeaway from his trip.

His meals consisted of rice daily, Dole bananas (from Equador!), and coffee...mostly consumed at his hotel. He also shared that toilet paper needs to be purchased if you choose to use it!

He had an opportunity to tour the area as well. Some of the missionaries continued to visit the Galaplos. He also stumbled into a Chinese bakery and they spoke Chinese and Spanish.

It's not about what you can or cannot do. It's about the relationship with God and the people you meet.

Charles suggested that having the right mindset and listening to God's call can prepare you for a mission trip.

Listen to Charles's complete presentation and join him with a beautiful song in Spanish that he learned on his journey!

George Lai

When George Lai and James Chuck and others collaborated to start The Gathering, one of the main components was to include scripture that the class would ultimately memorize to enrich their daily life with God.

Attached is a complete list/scripture for YOU to print and SAVE so you can practice on your own and as a class together.
